Our Story...

Hello!  Thanks for stopping in. Disaster Motors is a small company based in Vancouver, Canada. Our motorcycle interest ranges from the post war heyday of AMA Class C road, hill and dirt-track racing when Indian Scouts and hot Harley 45’s battled it out on the tracks in America… to the beauty and function of the bikes that emerged out of Japan in the 1960’s and 1970’s. We have spent years wrenching, restoring, riding and racing these bikes and continue to work hard to supply like-minded enthusiasts with hard-to-find parts and the best prices possible.

We are also pleased to also bring you some of the rarest vintage motorcycle racing films around. From our own family/ personal collection of 8mm and 16mm films we have worked to bring these historic races, spill, crashes and general motorcycle culture visuals from the 1940’s, 50’s and 60’s alive again and into your living room with our DVD’s. Vintage aviation and sportscar enthusiasts will also find some treats there too. Be sure to take a look at these when you visit our store. More film projects coming in the future too…

The Disaster Motors clothing line has emerged as a simple, but straight forward group of clothing and accessories for garage gremlins like yourself.

We spend our own spare time traveling the world over for the next rusty part or bike to keep us busy: New Zealand, USA, Japan, Canada, Italy..where next? We also work to maintain a 1969 CL350 Honda Scrambler for vintage flattrack races in the Pacific Northwest. See you on the street or track soon!

We are also happy to bring to Vancouver one of the best vintage/ cafe/ chopper motorcycle shows each summer: Disasterdaze. The wild assortment of amazing bikes that roll into this event each year is astounding.  We have also been luck to have such great bands as the Vicious Cycles, Powell Street Slim, Dead Cats, DMBQ (Japan), The Manipulators, The Pack A.D., La Chinga fire up some great tunes over the years. Fire up your bike and we’ll catch you there next year!
